A very warm welcome to Saint Mary’s Pre-school.

Saint Mary’s Pre-school is privately owned and managed.  It opened in 1985 and operates within the grounds of Saint Mary’s School, Glossop.

We are registered with Ofsted. Click here to read our latest inspection report.

We understand that childcare has to focus first and foremost on safeguarding and promoting the welfare needs of young children.

We are under the Local Authority, Derbyshire County Council/Social Services and are a member of the Derbyshire Early Years and Childcare Partnership.

We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) based on children’s learning journeys.  We observe, monitor and plan for individual learning, working towards the early learning goals.

We have regard for equal opportunities and encourage children to participate in a wide range of activities.  We also provide multi-cultural opportunities for all the children to experience other cultures.  We follow guidelines for children who may have special educational needs.

We have a transition programme to ensure the smooth handover of our children to the school, this includes joint play sessions, regular visits to school, joint playground activities and cookery.
