End of School Year 2011-12
Year 6 – a talented bunch!
Our Year 6 results are fantastic once again with many of the children beating their target. Two children even reached a level 6.
50% of the class managed to achieve a level 5 in Reading which is high and 42% reached it in Maths. Congratulations children as you have worked so hard with the help of all your teachers over the years in school.
This year’s Year 6 have risen to the challenge very well and have proven to be a excellent year group. They have represented the school many times and we have all been proud of their behaviour and attitude. You all are a credit to your families and the fact that you have all tried to achieve your best in you work is just that extra bonus. Well done and good luck in the future!

Our scarecrows won first prize at the Glossop carnival. Special thanks to Mrs Haworth , Kay Stowell, Andrea Strogen for their creativity and to Mr and Mrs Kirrage for providing the straw.
Our Gardening Club entered the Rotary Club Butterfly Garden Competition and won the shield beating nine other Glossop schools. Congratulations to the club and Mrs Armitage and all the parent helpers who have ensured the win.
The Kitchen Staff have won the prestigious Gold Award from Derbyshire County Council for their catering service. This is a great achievement due to their hard work. Congratulations to them!
We could also have a future Olympic gymnast in our midst! Molly, aged 9 entered the Glossop Gymnastic Club competition recently and won Silver in the Floor event, Gold in the Vault event and came first over all. Well done to her!
